Austin, Texas- Michaels and College Fashionista bring a little DIY fun to SXSW in Austin for an experiential DIY jewelry campaign with help from Bulldog Mobile Billboards. To fully implement and highlight the jewelry making experience, Michaels and College Fashionista turned to Bulldog Mobile Billboards and its signature glass-walled advertising vehicle for an interactive three-day campaign.

Led by Founder, Amy Levin, College Fashionista is a college fashion site dedicated to the latest styles and trends across campuses worldwide. College Fashionista utilized signature style innovation from the site as well as crafting experts and materials from Michaels to guide participants through DIY jewelry stations. Anyone attending the free SXSW concert days on April 14-16 was invited to stop by the branded glass-walled vehicle to craft a free bracelet.

The DIY jewelry station featured craft beads, crystals, stretch magic and more all from the craft store, Michaels. 8-10 crafters as well as crafting experts were able to fit inside the fully stocked vehicle at one time. The freedom to create something that fit each individual’s style was a huge success, as the vehicle consistently sported a line over the three days.

The experiential campaign was able to reach both men and woman, from small children up to adults from around the world. The campaign reached further than SXSW through the promotion and use of the Twitter hashtag “#diystyle”. Participants emphasized that the jewelry station was “really cool and different” and “definitely made [their] day”.
